Geraldyne Pierce Zimmerman
Geraldyne Pierce Zimmerman is the subject of a recent book Ahead of Her Time in Yesteryear by Kibibi Mack-Shelton. An irrepressible advocate for civil rights in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Mrs. Zimmerman reached her 100th birthday and celebrated the publication of this book about her life. Nancy A. Hardesty
A major force in the evangelical Christian feminist movement, Professor Hardesty was the author of many books, including our Women Called to Witness: Evangelical Feminism in the Nineteenth Century. A tribute to her life and work can be found here.
John B. Rehder
An avid outdoorsman and a true champion for UT Press, John B. Rehder worked for 43 years in the Department of Geography at the University of Tennessee.
He served as a University of Tennessee Press Editorial Board Member and was the author of the award-winning books Delta Sugar and Appalachian Folkways. His obituary is available here.
