The Southeastern Library Association granted two awards to UT Press designers in its 2009 Southern Books Competition. Barbara Karwhite’s THE WARS OF MYRON KING: A B-17 PILOT FACES WWII AND U.S.–SOVIET INTRIGUE won an Honorable Mention for dust jacket design. Chad Pelton’s AMERICA’S MAIN STREET HOTELS: TRANSIENCY AND COMMUNITY IN THE EARLY AUTO AGE won an Honorable Mention for overall design.
